Doodle Bugs! Team Tuesday: Issue 275

Did you hear? Yesterday was National Boss’s Day!

National Boss’s Day began in 1958 when a woman named Patricia Bays Haroski, a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company, registered “National Boss’s Day” with the United States Chamber of Commerce.  She chose October 16 because it was her father’s birthday and at the time, he was also her employer! Four years later, in 1962, Illinois Governor, Otto Kerner, backed Haroski’s registration and officially proclaimed Boss’s day. Then, in 1979, Hallmark introduced Boss’s Day cards to their inventory. Each year Boss’s Day is recognized on October 16 (unless it falls on a weekend, like this year).

Now that we’ve given you a little Boss’s Day history lesson, let’s get down to business. For this week’s Team Tuesday we’re taking a moment to gush about our amazing Directors and Directors’ Assistants at each of our locations! These women have a huge responsibility and do an outstanding job cultivating a community of Happy Children, Happy Parents and Happy Teachers.

Throughout the day yesterday, we enjoyed hearing about the little treats our “bosses” received from their team. It is obvious that they have garnered the utmost respect from the teachers in their center. Hats off to you, Directors and Directors Assistants! Happy (belated) Boss’s Day– you all are awesome!
