Our mission is simple: to build a community of happy children, happy parents and happy teachers. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, organization, professionalism and education so that we can spread happiness to every single individual at Doodle Bugs!
The Doodle Bugs! Way
Living “The Doodle Bugs! Way” means our team members consistently demonstrating these behaviors:
- Delivering a personalized experience. We are responsive to the needs of children and parents through thoughtful questions, a kind smile and nurturing interactions.
- Be accountable. We do what we say we’ll do and see questions and concerns through to their resolution.

At Doodle Bugs!, we believe that every child has a right to:
- Learn In a safe, clean and child-friendly environment. Care and education are understood to be equally important and interdependent facets of early childhood.
- Be Respected As an individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. Learning experiences must be responsive to those needs.
- Experience Positive, nurturing relationships with peers and adults. The school climate must cultivate a caring community of learners who treat one another with fairness, dignity and respect.
- Participate In learning experiences that promote creativity, curiosity and competence. Play is understood to be the work of early childhood.
Our Accreditation
Doodle Bugs! is accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA). MSA is recognized around the world as an indication of trustworthiness, educational quality, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Accreditation is a voluntary, rigorous process that requires a program to meet and maintain high standards.
The Beginning
In 1992, siblings, Anna, Clarine, and Anthony Insinna opened Building Blocks Daycare in East Amherst, New York, welcoming 24 preschool students and their families. From the beginning, the Insinna’s mission has been to establish an early childhood learning center that is safe, clean, organized, professional, and educational.
From “Building Blocks” to “Doodle Bugs!”
In 1998, with six years of experience and a few centers under their belts, the Insinnas changed the company’s name to Doodle Bugs! and quickly became an industry leader in everything from curriculum to accreditation to center security.
A Three-State Reach
In 2007, Doodle Bugs! expanded into the Rochester, NY area; in 2013, they made the move into Pennsylvania; and in 2014, Doodle Bugs! opened their first Florida center.
Growing into the Future
Today, Doodle Bugs! currently enrolls hundreds of children. Together, the siblings look forward to offering the Doodle Bugs! experience to many more families in the future.
How It All Began
In 1992, siblings, Anna, Clarine and Anthony Insinna opened a small child care center in East Amherst, New York, welcoming 24 preschool students and their families. Over three decades, the business has evolved but our mission remains the same.
1995
Tonawanda Center Opens
Doodle Bugs! expands, opening our first center in Tonawanda, NY.
1998
Williamsville & Cheektowaga Centers Open
Our Doodle family continues to grow, with new centers opening in Williamsville and Cheektowaga.
2001
State-of-the-Art Facility Opens in East Amherst
Our first center designed totally to our specifications opens in East Amherst.
2003
New Cheektowaga Center Opens
We open another new center in Cheektowaga.
2004
MSA Accreditation
The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) launches an innovative Early Age Accreditation project and Doodle Bugs! is the first program in WNY to participate.
2005
West Amherst Center Opens
We continue to expand, this time in West Amherst.
2005
Selected as Official Child Care Provider for the Buffalo Sabres
Doodle Bugs! is honored to be chosen as the official child care provider for the Buffalo Sabres.
2007
Expansion to Rochester & Orchard Park
Doodle Bugs! opens first center in Rochester area (Webster, NY) as well as a new center in Orchard Park.
2008
Lancaster Center Opens
Doodle Bugs! expands to the Lancaster/Depew area.
2009
Continued Expansion in Rochester
We open a new center in Penfield, NY.
2010
Growth in Rochester & Buffalo
We add two centers, one in Henrietta and one in Clarence.
2012
Franchise System Launched
Doodle Bugs! opens its first franchise location in Victor, NY.
2012
Selected as Official Child Care Provider for the Buffalo Bills
Doodle Bugs! is honored to become the official child care provider of the Buffalo Bills.
2013
Two New Centers
Doodle Bugs! expands to PA, opening a center in McCandless, as well as a center in Greece, NY.
2014
Expansion to Florida
We open our first Florida center.

Selected as Official Child Care Provider for the Pittsburgh Steelers
Doodle Bugs! is selected to be the official child care provider for the Pittsburgh Steelers, our second football team.
2017
2nd PA Center
Doodle Bugs! opens our 2nd center in the Pittsburgh area in Mars, PA.

25th Anniversary & Rebrand
To celebrate 25 years in business, we rebrand and continue to grow.
2018
2nd Florida Location Opens
Doodle Bugs! opens second Florida location, near Sarasota.
