Learn In a safe, clean and child-friendly environment. Care and education are understood to be equally important and interdependent facets of early childhood.
Be Respected As an individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. Learning experiences must be responsive to those needs.
Experience Positive, nurturing relationships with peers and adults. The school climate must cultivate a caring community of learners who treat one another with fairness, dignity and respect.

Our Accreditation

Doodle Bugs! is accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA). MSA is recognized around the world as an indication of trustworthiness, educational quality, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Accreditation is a voluntary, rigorous process that requires a program to meet and maintain high standards.

The Doodle Bugs! Story

The Beginning

In 1992, siblings, Anna, Clarine, and Anthony Insinna opened Building Blocks Daycare in East Amherst, New York, welcoming 24 preschool students and their families. From the beginning, the Insinna’s mission has been to establish an early childhood learning center that is safe, clean, organized, professional, and educational.

From “Building Blocks” to “Doodle Bugs!”

In 1998, with six years of experience and a few centers under their belts, the Insinnas changed the company’s name to Doodle Bugs! and quickly became an industry leader in everything from curriculum to accreditation to center security.

A Three-State Reach

In 2007, Doodle Bugs! expanded into the Rochester, NY area; in 2013, they made the move into Pennsylvania; and in 2014, Doodle Bugs! opened their first Florida center.

Growing into the Future

Today, Doodle Bugs! currently enrolls hundreds of children. Together, the siblings look forward to offering the Doodle Bugs! experience to many more families in the future.

How It All Began

In 1992, siblings, Anna, Clarine and Anthony Insinna opened a small child care center in East Amherst, New York, welcoming 24 preschool students and their families. Over three decades, the business has evolved but our mission remains the same.

It All Begins

Siblings Anna, Clarine and Anthony Insinna open Building Blocks Daycare in East Amherst, NY, with a shared vision to provide high-quality child care for local families.

1995

The First Expansion

The business grows beyond its original location with a second center in Tonawanda, NY.

1998

Doodle Bugs! Is Born

Building Blocks becomes Doodle Bugs!, with new centers opening in Williamsville and Cheektowaga, NY.

2001

Building a Better Child Care Center

The first purpose-built Doodle Bugs! center opens in East Amherst, NY.

2003

Continued Growth in Western New York

A new Doodle Bugs! center opens in Cheektowaga, NY.

2004

Raising the Bar

Doodle Bugs! becomes the first Western New York program to participate in MSA’s Early Age Accreditation project.

2005

Growing in Western New York

A new Doodle Bugs! center opens in West Amherst, NY.

2007

Growing Beyond Buffalo

A new center opens in Orchard Park, NY, followed by Doodle Bugs!’ expansion into the Rochester market with a center in Webster, NY.

2008

Lancaster Center Opens

Doodle Bugs! expands into the Lancaster, NY area.

2009

Growing in Rochester

A new Doodle Bugs! center opens in Penfield, NY.

2010

Growth in Rochester & Buffalo

New centers open in Henrietta and Clarence, NY.

2012

A New Way to Grow

Doodle Bugs! opens its first franchise location in Victor, NY.

2013

Expanding Across New York & Pennsylvania

Doodle Bugs! opens a new center in Greece, NY, followed by its first Pennsylvania location in McCandless, PA.

2014

Expanding to Florida

Doodle Bugs! enters its third state with the opening of its first Florida center.

2017

Growth & 25 Years

Doodle Bugs! celebrates 25 years in business and opens its second Pittsburgh-area center in Mars, PA.

2018

Lakewood Ranch Center Opens

Doodle Bugs! opens a new location in the Sarasota, FL area.

2020

Growing in New York & Florida

New centers open in Brighton, NY and Oviedo, FL.

2021

Growing in Pennsylvania

Doodle Bugs! opens its third Pittsburgh-area center in Southpointe, PA.
