What Characteristics Make Early Childhood Teachers Effective?
I discovered an article that helps illustrate how wonderfully complex and talented we are as teachers. “Reflecting on their practice, 43 early childhood educators identified characteristics they believed are integral to effective teaching.”
The resulting characteristics include:
- Passion
- Perseverance
- Willingness to take risks
- Pragmatism
- Patience
- Flexibility
- Respect for children and families
- Creativity
- Authenticity
- Love of learning
