Celebrate Music in Our Schools Month with Our Annual Musical Sharing Event!

March is Music in Our Schools Month, and we are excited to invite families to celebrate the joy, creativity, and learning that music brings to our classrooms! To mark this special occasion, we are hosting our annual Musical Sharing Event on Thursday, March 26th, and Friday, March 27th, and warmly encourage parents, grandparents, caregivers, and family members to participate.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to share your musical talents – whether you sing a song, play an instrument, or read a book about music. Your participation helps children experience the wonder of music firsthand, inspiring creativity and connection while supporting their early learning.
How to Participate
Participating in our Musical Sharing Event is easy! Each classroom will have a sign-up sheet posted to gather names of interested families and the musical talent they’d like to share. Teachers will then reach out to each participant to coordinate a time that fits seamlessly into the classroom’s daily schedule and ensures setup needs will be met.
Why We Celebrate Music
Music is much more than just a fun activity for children, it plays a powerful role in their development. Through songs, rhythm, and movement, children learn essential skills that will support them throughout their lives. Music encourages language development, helping children hear patterns in words and understand rhythm, rhyme, and sounds. Singing together also strengthens memory and listening skills, while playing instruments or clapping along promotes coordination and motor development.
Music also nurtures social-emotional growth. When children make music together, they learn cooperation, patience, and self-expression. It’s a safe way for them to explore feelings, develop empathy, and build confidence in their abilities.
Finally, music sparks creativity and imagination. From creating original rhythms to acting out songs with movement, children use their minds in flexible, inventive ways that translate into problem-solving and innovative thinking later in life.
By celebrating Music in Our Schools Month and inviting families to share their talents, we show children that music is a lifelong source of happiness, connection, and learning. Every song sung, instrument played, or story shared strengthens their growth and creates memories they will carry forever.
We can’t wait to see our classrooms come alive with music and laughter, and hope you’ll join us in celebrating this wonderful month. Let’s make it a musical celebration to remember!
