The Friday Five

Happy Friday! Another collection of links, photos and other interesting tidbits to wrap up the week – enjoy!

1.  “In my garden there is a large place for sentiment.  My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams.” This week’s curriculum focus on ‘Great Gardens’ has been an amazing opportunity to investigate both the science and sentiment of growth – be sure to ask your children about their container gardens!

2. Now that the egg hunts and other holiday festivities are done, are you wondering what to do with all of those plastic eggs? Check out this easy DIY memory game for preschoolers: http://quirkymomma.com/2010/what-is-missing/

3. Did you know that our Curriculum Specialists visit each Doodle Bugs! center to observe teaching strategies and offer curriculum support? Keep an eye out for Amber (at the Buffalo centers) and Cait (at the Rochester centers) – you’ll find them engaged in children’s play, modeling a love for learning!

4. It’s not too late to join Team Doodle! Did you know that Doodle Bugs! is participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (Buffalo, June 12) and the Stroll for Strong (Rochester, June 5). Faculty members and doodle families are invited to join our team in support of these worthy causes. Please contact Laura for more information on either event.

5. Have you heard about Summer Camp 2010? This doodle day camp is sure to be the best camp yet. New features include:

  • Mystery Express: To add to the fun, the Mystery Express (four theme trailers full of amazing activities!)will visit each center throughout the summer. When the Mystery Express arrives, everyone will enjoy an impromptu Doodle Carnival, Sports of All Sorts, Doodle-Fab Science Lab or an Art Explosion.
  • All Inclusive Tuition: Field trips (including transportation!), enrichment programs, meals AND all doodle program features are included in your tuition – no additional fees!
  • Discounted Rates: New enrollment options! Discounted Early Bird Summer Contracts are accepted until June 1 and Discounted Summer Contracts are accepted until July 5!
