Read for the Record – October 6th, 2011
Sit down to read…stand up for children!
By participating in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record and reading Llama Llama Red Pajama on October 6, 2011, you’ll be joining more than 2 million voices to call for an end to America’s early education achievement gap.
Children who are read to are more likely to enjoy reading themselves when they grow up. Reading together with your class everyday is a great way to:
– Enjoy one another and spend time together
– Help children learn new words and ideas
– Give children time to speak and listen
– Get children interested in reading and books
Early education can set children on a path for lifelong success! Exposure to a print-rich environment sets the stage for a life-long love for reading and learning!
