Doodle Bugs! Team Tuesday: Issue #14

“People don’t care how much you know
–until they know how much you care.”
              –John C. Maxwell

At Doodle Bugs!, our mission is to build a community of happy children, happy parents and happy teachers. Recognizing that building relationships is a necessary first step to building community, we focus our attention on building and maintaining authentic relationships between teachers, children and their families.

The relationship between a teacher and her students is enhanced (and learning happens organically!) when the teacher sees every interaction as an opportunity to ‘take a moment to make a moment.’ Recently, as part of a payroll contest (an employee appreciation program that awards team members with Vera Bradley handbags), team members were asked to share how they ‘take a moment’ in their classrooms. All of the responses were lovely and demonstrated a genuine commitment to our mission.

Today, we’re happy to share the response from contest winner, Beth McCarthy. A member of our Webster team and past recipient of the Employee of the Month award, Beth is a both a talented teacher and an asset to our faculty.

Team Tuesday: Beth McCarthy (Webster)

“To me,’ take a moment to make a moment’ means taking time everyday to ‘sit back’ and watch the children explore and learn independently… allowing them to teach themselves, each other and me!”

“These moments are priceless and make me smile.”

Thank you, Beth — the doodle community is a better place because you CARE.
