Doodle Bugs! Standard of the Week: 10/29/12

For this week’s SOTW, it seemed appropriate to repeat the ‘Take a Moment to Make a Moment; message that seemed to naturally repeat itself at our 3rd Annual Conference:

Every session delivered this important message, in the following ways:

• Lindsay Leusch taught teachers the importance of taking a moment to make literacy meaningful;
• Carly Bruce, Colleen Nolan and Sara Utech stressed taking a moment to initiate and enjoy simple, meaningful play with infants and toddlers;
• Liz Vandetti urged everyone to take a moment to embrace the social-emotional aspect of child development;
• Caroline Berrios taught us to ‘give ’em a pickle’ as a means of making a moment;
• Christina Fecio encouraged teachers to take a moment to take a leadership role at Doodle Bugs!;
• Matt Mignogna demonstrated how to take a moment to understand the ‘why’ behind our classroom materials;
• And Dr. Ernie Dettore, of course, wonderfully reminded us all about taking a moment to play.

The SOTW will be posted for parents to see, in the faculty lounge, and placed in each classroom’s mailslot.
