Doodle Bugs! Standard of the Week: 01/23/12
This weeks SOTW reminds teachers that daily outdoor play is required, by both OCFS regulation and Doodle Bugs! policy. It is considered ‘best practice’ for children of all ages, including infants, to get outside every day (whenever the temp is 25 or higher).
- Daily outdoor play is important and FUN!
- Fresh air = fewer germs & fewer behavioral problems.
- Remind parents to send coats/hats/gloves/snowpants & boots.
- If some students are not dressed appropriately, split into small groups. Half the class can go out while the others enjoy indoor gross motor fun.
As always, the SOTW will be posted in the faculty lounge and for families to view. We appreciate everyone’s thoughtful attention to the doodle details!
