Doodle Dance, Cinderella Edition!

On Monday, Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother and some very special fairies made a stop at our Henrietta Center. To summarize, we were enamored by every interaction and couldn’t look away.

Each week, Doodle Dance & Fitness Teachers visit our centers to help keep the minds and bodies of the children in our programs active. Dancing teaches free self-expression and nurtures an early love and understanding of music and rhythm. It’s just one of the fun, exciting ways for children to exercise throughout the Doodle Day.

This week, for a special edition of Doodle Dance, dancers from the Draper Center for Dance Education and the Rochester City Ballet  paid us a visit and the result was pure magic. We spent the entire morning, practicing dance moves, comparing tutus, chatting about our day and feeling in awe that princesses were in our presence.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words – we hope that these do just that.

I think the children could have chatted the day away with these young women. What a beautiful morning – if only we could have bottled that magic!

It “takes a village” and we are so grateful for our wonderful community partnerships. If you’re local, the Rochester City Ballet will be performing Cinderella in March and many of the Draper Center students that visited us this week will participate in the production. Thank you, Rochester City Ballet and Draper Center – we had so much fun!
