Programs

Preschool (Ages 3-4)

Preschool children at Doodle Bugs! enjoy our Bravo! Early Childhood Curriculum, a unique combination of our professionally developed curriculum and our exclusive enrichment programs. The Caterpillars (3-4 year olds) learn through a variety of stimulating, hands-on experiences, all designed to support their development and growth.

Preschoolers enjoy child-centered activities in math, science, pre-reading, pre-writing, art and computers. Every day starts off with Circle Time, which includes songs, music, show & tell, poems, and group discussions; this morning meeting is the perfect time to introduce and explore thematic content. Doodle Bugs! supplements our outstanding preschool with our exclusive enrichment  programs, including Tae Kwon Do, Doodle Dance & Fitness, Introductory Spanish, Computer Instruction, and Happy Hour – this unique combination of traditional instruction and enrichment programs is the cornerstone of the Bravo! Early Childhood ProgramLearn more about Bravo! here.

Our Preschool Environment
The Doodle Bugs! environment is bright and colorful, encouraging children to be creative and have fun. Each preschool classroom has been designed to offer a variety of stimulating activities. We incorporate many interest areas in our classrooms, including:

- Language & Literacy
- Science
- Creative Art
- Outdoor Play
- Dramatic Play
- Sand & Water Exploration
- Computers
- Blocks
- Music & Movement

Interest areas are structured to offer opportunities for both quiet and active play, while promoting cooperation between children, and allowing them to organize their time. Our teachers encourage children to use their imaginations and to make their own decisions.

Our Caterpillar classrooms (3-4 year olds) maintain a child to staff ratio of 7: 1, allowing staff members to work with the children individually, in small groups, and as a class each day. As with the other age groups, a daily report is sent home, summarizing your child's day at Doodle Bugs!. In addition, our staff maintains an assessment portfolio for each child, which tracks developmental progress using photographs, checklists and work samples. Children’s assessment portfolios are stored in the classroom with their journals, alphabet books, and other ‘work in progress’ – these materials are always available for parents to review.
