Bravo! - Computer Instruction
 Doodle Bugs! is dedicated to providing every child with the materials and support to understand basic computer operations, become comfortable with independent computer use, and begin to embrace technology as a learning tool.
Careful software selection and consistent child-teacher interaction are essential parts of our innovative computer curriculum. Children are engaged in technology-based, developmentally appropriate activities that supplement our classroom studies; as their cognitive development progresses, so does their sense of self-esteem and confidence. You'll be amazed at how quickly your preschooler becomes proficient at computer use!
Our computer lab is equipped with high-speed Internet access and computers specifically designed for children. In addition, every preschool classroom has a computer, which is networked to the computer lab, and contains all of our preschool learning software. We supervise all Internet activity and use special software which blocks inappropriate web sites.
 Our Technology Coordinators work with our classroom teachers to implement our innovative computer curriculum. Highlights of this exclusive program include:
- Skill Based Software Exploration
Teachers assess children’s proficiency in certain academic areas, and provided guided tutorials to build necessary skills. For example, a child who is beginning to build early math skills would complete tasks involving number recognition, creating patterns, and comparing shapes.
- Thematic Projects
Teachers supplement curriculum themes with hands-on activities using the Internet, the digital camera and the scanner. For example, a weekly focus on zoo animals is complemented by viewing a live Panda-Cam online and using the scanner to create a homemade rendition of If I Ran The Zoo by Dr. Seuss.
- Cooperative Learning Opportunities
In the lab and in the classroom computer center, children work in pairs and small groups. Guided by our staff, they have opportunities to share ideas, learn from one another, and build new skills.
