How Did it All Begin?

In 1992, Anna, Clarine, and Anthony Insinna opened a small child care center in East Amherst, New York, welcoming 24 preschool students and their families to our family business. Word spread quickly about the doodle difference. 'Doodle Bugs!' became synonymous with high quality child care and a commitment to continuous improvement. Put simply, families trusted us to meet their child care needs – and we exceeded their expectations.

We're incredibly proud of the ways our company has grown and improved since we opened our first center. We're equally proud of the fact that our priorities, spelled out in the acronym S.C.O.P.E. (Safe, Clean, Organized, Professional, Educational), have remained consistent. Since 1992, S.C.O.P.E has kept our entire team focused on what matters most.

It is truly a pleasure to know that children now ask for Doodle Bugs! Children's Centers by name. Parents hear, "Look, a Doodle Bug!" and see that their children are captivated by the smiling green face and red antennae that mark the exterior of each center. Everyone immediately knows that there's learning, laughter, and lots of fun within those brightly colored doors!
