Doodle Bugs! Commemorates 20th Anniversary with 20 Acts of Kindness
We’re looking forward to celebrating Mr. Doodle Bug’s 20th birthday on January 20, 2012. In addition to our traditional birthday celebrations at the centers – birthday cakes, décor, and lots of good cheer! – we are proud to announce a special new initiative:
Kindness, community, generosity of both time and spirit – these are the heart of our program’s success. To celebrate the fact that the doodle community is made up of passionate individuals who truly care, we’re using Mr. Doodle Bug’s birthday as a unique opportunity to ‘pay it forward’. We are commemorating 20 years of learning and laughter with 20 acts of kindness.
Mr. Doodle Bug and friends look forward to sharing their doodle spirit throughout Western New York. Every doodle location will participate in at least two acts of kindness - you’ll see us at nursing homes, children’s hospitals, city missions, public libraries, and other local organizations – taking advantage of opportunities to ‘pay it forward’ in our community. We’ll share a total of 20 acts of kindness, to celebrate 20 years of building a community of happy children, happy parents, and happy teachers.
Details about this initiative will be shared on our Facebook page, with one ‘act of kindness’ celebrated each day, beginning January 1st and continuing through January 20th. We’ll also continue to share additional acts of kindness throughout the year, as we find new opportunities to pay it forward in 2012.
